Old Solutions is a curated archive of ancestral knowledge — vetted folk remedies, vernacular building technologies, traditional financial practices, food preservation methods, and agricultural wisdom drawn from cultures worldwide.

The premise is simple: before pharmaceutical corporations, construction material conglomerates, and central banks, human communities developed sophisticated and often effective responses to the challenges of health, shelter, food, and money. Much of this knowledge is documented — in ethnobotanical journals, anthropological field studies, traditional ecological knowledge literature — but scattered and inaccessible to most people.

We compile it. Every solution in this archive cites its sources. Every entry includes a modern application — concrete, actionable guidance, not historical curiosity. We do not publish entries without sources.
